Parking is in the lay-by just beyond the bridge. There is parking for 3 cars here - please park considerably so that others can access as well and make sure you do not obscure access for the farmer.

Access the river on the opposite side of the river through this style (which is also a public footpath). Please note there is a quite a drop on the far side, so take care when accessing. The river is to the right of this photo. To access upstream, please walk under the arch of Markse bridge (take great care if river is high and/or rising).
This is looking upstream from Markse bridge, and shows the river a little up and coloured (ideal conditions for this stretch of water). The rapids immediately above the bridge can be good for short-line nymphing, taking great care with wading. The water extends upstream for half a mile or so to the Oxque Gill top limit.
Looking downstream from Markse Bridge, one of the more popular spots given the short walk. There can be some good rises on the far side, but if you are willing to walk then you have miles of water all the way down to Lownthwaite bridge on the North bank (the left hand side of the photo here).
