Position relevant to Data Protection Act 1998

Following consultation with the Angling Trustís Fish Legal service, R&DAS linked two courses of action to comply with provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. These included a brief statement on the front of the societyís permit and a broader policy statement on the societyís website.

At its meeting on 10th April 2018, the societyís committee discussed implications of the GDPR due to come into effect on 25th May 2018. The committee believed that what was in place currently was a good starting point.  It was agreed to leave the permit statement as it was and to amend the website statement to bring the society into line with requirements of GDPR 2018.
